Boston

30th June - 1st July Boston

Boston is a city of contrasts. Lively city with live music. We were amazed by the fireworks in the evening. I have never seen anything like that! Boston hit the heart and soul.
I enjoyed the architecture of the city. Old and new style combined together interestingly. Different periods of time were limiting each other. After every corner, there was something new to explore. Pictures will tell more about this beautiful city! I highly recommend Boston!

In the Evening it was time to celebrate the name day for Kosmas. We had a cake and great party together. This is SUSI - it brings us together :)

Visiting Harvard University and MIT

30th June - 1st July Boston

We traveled to Boston by van for two hours in a heatwave. 37'C degrees! Quite a lot for me! I managed to not burn myself with suncream SPF 50. Our first destination was the famous Harvard University. We had a young intelligent Harvard athletic as our guide through the University area. It was a tour full of energy.

We learned that Harvard University is established in 1636, Harvard is the oldest institution of higher education in the United States. It was named after the College’s first benefactor, the young minister John Harvard of Charlestown, who upon his death in 1638 left his library and half his estate to the institution. A statue of John Harvard stands today in front of University Hall in Harvard Yard, and is perhaps the University’s best known landmark.

After a short introduction, we walked through the minor gate to the University area. It is said that using bigger gate brings bad luck.

University Library. 

After Harvard University it was time to visit MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Plan for the School started in 1846. School started in 1862. This is the place of Bengt Holmström Nobel prize winner in economics.

After visiting these two great institutes it was time to explore Boston!
